It was happened around 1pm on 01.12.2017. Jagath informed 119 (police hot line) about a criminal called Loku trying to assault him via Chathuranga's phone. They asked him the incident in detail and told him to appear at Samanthilaka mudalali's boutique after 02 hours because it was difficult to come to the place where he resides.
So he went to the boutique of Samanthilaka mudalali.
At around 3.30 pm three policemen accompanid with the criminal called loku arrived the said place. The police were dressed in civilian clothes. They attached to Makelialla police. They were identified as police constable Jayathissa policeman Nilanga and policeman Kumara.
At the very moment they reached him the criminal called loku grabbed his shirt collar saying here the goods while the police constable Jayathissa put his hands on his back and put handcuffs.
After that all the policemen assaulted him using the poles plucked from a fence. They hit him all his body. They thrashed his head on the wall of the boutique. The policemen also used their hands and legs to beat him.
After that two police personals called Nilanga and Kumara went to the criminals house while the other policeman Jayathissa stayed with him. They brought the criminal's father called Gunarathna.
After that all were brought to Makeliella police station. The Officer In Charge assaulted him while he was entering the police. He assaulted his back and the pole was broken. The other said three police personals also assaulted him using their hands and legs.
The Officer In Charge came to him and assaulted and squeezed and twisted his penis threatened him to put chilies. They said while assaulting were you a thug?
They too assaulted Gunaratne.
They kept him for about an hour and brought to the Baduraeliya police by the earlier said three police personals. At the Baduraeliya police he was removed handcuffs and put inside the cell. Until dawn he was inside the cell.
On 02.12.2017 around 10.30 in the morning his wife called Kurudukarage Nilanthi Devika Shriya Kalayani came to the police station.
He was received bail. It was signed by his wife. The police informed him to appear before the court on 08.12.2017. He doesn't know what the charges are.
After released he went to the Baduraeliya government hospital. He told to the hospital authorities about the assault.
He was discharged on 04.12.2017 from the hospital. At around 3pm he lodged complaint before the assistant superintendent of police in Mathugama. They typed it but did not read it for him. But took his signature. He said the ASP acted partial to the police.
He was waiting for three days. On 07.12.2017 he came to meet senior superintendent of police. The police told him to stay while they would arrived. After two and half hours they came but he was not allowed to see him. They told him to leave while saying him to appear if they would say.
He understands that all acted to defend the police personals who tortured and fabricated charges on him. Instead of that the police protect the criminal Loku who is a lager scale liquor seller and a perpetrator of a child abuse case.
He clearly says this is a violation of his rights. He requests the relevant authorities to implement law and displenary action against the said police personals. ( Amerasinha, Jayathissa , Nilanga and Kumara)
